Globe Letter: Scream for Darfur, Ruth Dukas

Scream for Darfur, Ruth Dukas, Globe and Mail Letters, Thursday, May 4, 2006

Bath, Ont. -- As one who participated in a "Scream for Darfur" rally in Kingston on Sunday, I can assure you that "Zionists" have not stolen the issue of Darfur's genocide that is so alarming Muslims in cyberspace. We attended as Jews who are horrified at the slaughter in Sudan and who remember the world's silence while our own people were being annihilated.

Would that the Muslim community speak out against the butchery of Muslim against Muslim in Sudan -- and Iraq, Afghanistan and Gaza. The world needs to hear moderate Muslim voices that are dismayed at the bloodshed and terror inflicted by these conflicts.
